At Association Attis, we are dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment as a premier dog and cat shelter for every animal in our care. Our mission focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating animals, and finding them forever homes.

Welcome to our nonprofit animal rescue in France, where we also support a charity dedicated to animals in need. We are a passionate group of individuals who have united to be a voice and a helping hand for pets like our namesake, Attis.
Association Attis is committed to rescuing and rehoming abandoned cats and dogs across France. As an animal shelter organization, we provide a safe haven for these vulnerable pets, offering them food, shelter, and medical care until they can be placed in loving forever homes. Our mission is to end animal homelessness and ensure the well-being of all our four-legged friends.
We need your help to give our amazing shelter cats and dogs the loving homes they deserve. If you’re looking to adopt a pet, consider opening your heart and home to one of our furry friends waiting for someone like you!
If adoption isn’t possible right now, you can also donate to our animal shelter. Every little bit helps, as your contributions go directly to providing food, medical care, and other essentials for our rescue animals.
Additionally, sponsoring a cat or dog during their stay at our rescue center is a wonderful way to make a lasting difference in the life of an animal in need. Finally, even if you can't adopt or donate, you can still make an impact by sharing our mission with your friends and family.
Together, we can give these animals a second chance at happiness. Thank you for your support!

Attis lived the first 6 years of his life terrorised and mistreated by his owner, who beat him and kept him locked indoors for his whole life. Finally taken into an animal rescue in France when his owner was hospitalised, his life in rescue began. Due to the emotional and physical damage done in his former 'home', it took months before we were able to touch him without him shaking or wetting himself, as you can see in the pictures when he arrived. We named him Attis, after the Greek god of rebirth. With love, care, and lots of doggy support, Attis finally learned to relax and loved his foster daddy. He learned to feel safe and secure within his kennel and in his 'world' within the compound here, but not outside these four walls. He spent three very happy years here, although the results of his repeated beating took their toll in the form of arthritis in his two back legs. Sadly, he left us in June 2019, but his resilience and ability to learn to love and trust in spite of his horrendous treatment inspired us to name our new association after him. We encourage everyone to adopt a pet and help support animals like Attis by donating to an animal shelter.

This is Nestor, a brave soul who arrived at our rescue after spending 3 months in a 'refuge' in Northern France. He was severely malnourished, just skin and bones, with little hope left in his eyes.

With patience, love, and expert care, we slowly nursed Nestor back to health over the next 3 months. The transformation was incredible—he became strong, healthy, and full of life again.

Nestor found his forever home and spent three cherished years with a loving family. Sadly, he passed away from a cardiac arrest, likely due to the neglect he endured in the past. His story reminds us why rescue work is so vital.
